Elder Dylan Sadler's Adventures in the Japan Tokyo South Mission

Hello! How was everyone's week? This past week was a blast here in Yokosuka. With everything from bowling to basically swimming through the rain. The missionary life is great and I wouldn't have it any other way! For all those who aren't missionaries out there, I would recommend! It's been the best year of my life so far and things are looking greater and greater all the time. This past week, we did a lot, but I'll share a couple of our adventures. Last Monday, we decided to go bowling on base again. I didn't play nearly as well as the previous week, but it was fun haha. In the evening, we had a lesson planned with our investigator Manuel. Long story short, the lesson fell through, so we hit the streets. Talked to some way cool people and made some good contacts. Tuesday was lots of Streeting and Japanese Class. Fun stuff. Konnichiwa! Yet another great week here in the Land of the Rising Sun!  We have seen so many amazing miracles and felt the spirit so much. I am so thankful for the opportunity I have to serve as a missionary here in Yokosuka, Japan. It hasn't always been a walk in the park, but as we have gone out and served with faith, we have seen so many amazing blessings. Last Monday, for p-day, we went bowling as a district (minus the sisters because they were being lame). Obviously I bowled the best, but it was fun for everyone else as well haha. On Tuesday , Elder Thomson and I packed up my bike, trained out down to Kita-Kurihama, rebuilt my bike, walked half an hour out to Asahi (the bike store), bought Elder Thomson a bike, and biked about 45 minutes back home. The fun part about the story is that all that took place during a huge rain storm. We were completely soaked by probably 2 minutes after leaving the apartment, so everything after that didn't really matter haha. The good news...

Minasan, konnichiwa! Hope everyone had a great week! Yokosuka has been bumping this past week and we're loving it. There have been a few changes this transfer and they have all been awesome. For one, no one in the district got transferred (other than Elder Taniguchi who will be leaving today and flying to the MTC tomorrow )! And secondly, my new companion is Elder Thomson, who is fresh out of the MTC! I was super excited to find out that I will train this transfer and even more excited when I met Elder Thomson. He's a hard worker and we get along really well so I'm looking forward to this transfer together. We have some investigators starting to come out of the woodworks and we are hoping to see a baptism together! This past week was super busy though. Last Monday, we took a relatively chill p-day and went up to Yokohama and did some shopping around. I bought a pretty nice hat from H&M and we got to check out the Pokémon Center. Hello everyone! Things are suspenseful here in Yokosuka as the district patiently awaits transfer emails today. We have some ideas bouncing around about who is going where, but in all honesty it's still pretty up in the air. As for my companionship though, Elder Taniguchi will be going to America for the MTC this transfer. That makes two missionaries that I have sent to America from Yokosuka haha. I hope both of them enjoy every minute of it! In other news, this past week has been great! Elder Taniguchi and I have been working hard, visiting members, and finding people to teach. Unfortunately, we are not very good at remembering to take pictures (sorry Mom), but I will give the highlights. Last Monday, we went to Kamakura as a half district (because the sisters were lame and didn't come). It was way fun. Hello everyone! It has been another great week here in Yokosuka. In all honesty, I can't even remember a whole lot of what happened, but that's because we were working hard and having a blast! I'll do my best to cover the highlights though. To begin with, last Monday we had plans to do a district p-day and go bowling, but it ended up being a little more expensive than we anticipated, so we went shopping as a district. Which turned out good because I had some birthday shopping to do anyways haha. I ended up buying a new pair of shoes, getting my bike fixed up, and bought matching pajamas as a district. It was a blast. I'll attach pics of the pajamas below. During the week, Elder Taniguchi and I went out in the heat and went to work. We talked to lots of cool people so hopefully something good will come of it. We were also finally able to meet with Andrew (our referral from Bro Peacock) this week as well! 皆さんこんにちは! This past week has been great here in Yokosuka! And thank you all so much for all the birthday emails and all the love. You guys are the best! In all honesty, nineteen feels the exact same as eighteen haha. And as a missionaries, we get to celebrate our birthdays by going to work and teaching about Jesus Christ. Probably best birthday ever. This past week hasn't been quite the adventure of the previous weeks, but it's been good. Last Monday, we went to Joga-Shima park at the bottom of our area and caught lots of rain. It was a lot of fun but we came home soaking wet. After Monday , it continued to rain the whole week. Elder Taniguchi and I both woke up Tuesday morning feeling pretty under the weather, but decided to go out and work anyway. We were in the rain all day on Tuesday as well. This past week absolutely flew by, but it was definitely a week of miracles! Elder Taniguchi and I spent a lot of time walking the street and knocking on doors, but not a whole lot of success. We have been able to talk to lots of cool people but pretty much all of them have fallen through. We were kind of feeling in a slump and weren't really sure how to get out of it. We had worked hard all week and eventually Thursday rolls around and we have weekly planning. We talked about some things, set some goals, and came up with a couple game plans to get us going again.
