One and a half white guys (Week 28)

皆さんこんにちは! Hope everyone had another great week! This past week has been one full of pleasant surprises in Kunitachi. It all began as just your normal transfer week in the Japan Tokyo South Mission, but on Tuesday we received a call from the president informing us that Elder Winn will be transferring to the Hibarigaoka area and another missionary, Elder Mori (a nihonjin), will be coming to Kunitachi. And, my new companion is Elder Yara, from Okinawa. You know what that means? Yep, I'm the only white guy in the entire district. Elder Handley is half white and half Japanese (hence the title of the email), but he is fluent in English and Japanese so our entire four man apartment is nothing but Japanese. Talk about out of the kettle and into the fire! Oh well, I see it as an opportunity to really increase my skill and understanding in Japanese language and culture. Needless to say, it will be difficult at times, but I am way excited! Elder Yara is a great companion as well. He is qui

Transfer 4🇯🇵⛩ (Week 27)

Hello everyone! Hope everyone had a great week! We have received some exciting news here in Kunitachi this past week! On Saturday , we received transfer emails! Elder Handly, Elder Winn, and I will all be staying in Kunitachi! But, the exciting part is I will be receiving a new companion (my fifth companion in the field). His name is Elder Yara and he is from Okinawa (s/o to all my homies in Fukuoka mission right now). Anyway, Elder Yara will be my first Japanese companion so I am super excited. I plan to take full advantage of the opportunity of being with a native Japanese speaker. Hopefully it will really increase my skill in the language. On another note, I can't believe I'm already transfer four! It still feels like I just got here a couple weeks ago! Time flies when you're having fun I guess! That's about all to report this week. There has been a big push for working with members and less actives in the Kunitachi Ward recently, so we haven't done a whole lot

6 Months!?🌋 (Week 26)

皆さんこんにちは! Hope everyone had a great week! Not much has happened this past week in Kunitachi and today is Temple p-day so not much time to write. So here's the run down. Had tons of meetings last week. Almost no dendo time. Thursday we had a training at the honbu (HQ) in Kichijoji. After that, Elder Duke was transferred to Tama and I teamed up with Elder Handley and Elder Winn. So far has been a blast! They are both so much fun! Anyway, since then, we have still had a few meetings and on top of that, we have to work real hard to cover two area books. It is quite the experience lol. Anyway, that's pretty much all that has happened this past week. In other news, as of today, I have been on a mission for six months! It's crazy to see how time flies. It feels like I have been on a mission for so long but at the same time, it feels like I just arrived. It's a weird feeling. Anyway, to all my homies out there who just opened mission calls, Congrats and good luck! Don't wa

3 Musketeers⚔️ (Week 25)

皆さんこんにちは! Hope everyone had an amazing week this past week. Things have been quite eventful here in Kunitachi recently. To begin with, last week was pretty slow. Nobody wanted to talk to us. It was difficult to even get anyone to say hello back. Elder Duke and I were feeling a little down and just plain tired. It was rough but we kept working hard. Sunday is where things got interesting. We had a great day at church. The lessons went really well, learned a lot of new words in Japanese, and it was a good time. After church, we came back home and while we were chilling at lunch, Elder Duke got a call from President Warnick saying that he is being Emergency transferred to Tama on Thursday . So for at least the rest of this transfer, I will be in a 3 man companionship with Elder Handly and Elder Winn. Hence the title, Three Musketeers lol. And because Elder Winn is still a bean (transfer 1-2), that technically makes me a trainer with Elder Handly. Exciting stuff! I doubt it will be the
