Back to the Roots 🌊⛩ (Week 80)

What’s up everybody!? Hope everyone had a great week! I keep telling myself I’m gonna write a way fire weekly email one of these weeks, but things keep coming up and it doesn’t take Sherlock Holmes to see that Elder Sadler isn’t much of a writer. But, for the sake of all my fans, I’ll try to keep it interesting! This past week was awesome! Last p-day was a lot of fun. Got some shopping done, helped the new Sister in the district buy her first bike in Japan, and had some sushi as a district. On Tuesday we had a couple district meeting to attend and then SPM (not really sure what it stands for but it’s basically a stake leadership/missionary coordination meeting). The fun part was that the Fujisawa stake center was my first area when I came to Japan almost a year and a half ago. I hadn’t had the opportunity to go back since then, so it was way cool to see the area and some of the members again (and I could actually speak Japanese to them this time, lol). Also had the opportunity to go

The South Will Rise Again🔥💯 (Week 79)

Howdy howdy! Hope y’all had a mighty fine week! The past week on this side of the planet has been one of tough goodbyes but lots of excitement for the future. Last Thursday we had transfers! Unfortunately I had to say goodbye to the mountainous paradise that is Kohoku and good bye to the amazing people that live there. It wasn’t easy, but there will be quite the plethora of good times to come! After six consecutive transfers, I have officially kissed my Yokohama thunder-thighs goodbye and am now serving in the area of Yamato as zone leader in the Fujisawa east zone. Super excited for the new area and the opportunity to work with such amazing people! Honestly, I can’t remember too much of what happened this past week. Transfer week is always a bit of a blur, but since Thursday, we have had quite the adventure. So, on Thursday, I made the transfer to Yamato and teamed up with my new companion - none other than the legendary Elder Harrison from Texas (hence the subject line of this wee

Cuff in a lavalava🌺🏝 (Week 78)

Talofa!!! Hope everyone had a great week, wherever you might be throughout the world! We have had quite the adventure here in Kohoku this past week and we’ve got zone p-day today, so I’ll just get right into it. 1. President’s interviews. These take place once a transfer and it’s always a pleasure to meet with President Warnick. President is only about two transfers ahead of me and so it’s been a really great experience to be able to learn and grow along side him. Interviews are always a spiritual experience and I always feel a little more enlightened afterwards. 2. Mars We found a homie from Taiwan a couple weeks ago who goes by the name of Mars because his Chinese name is too difficult for your average white guy like myself to pronounce. We were able to meet with Mars for the second time this week and give him a church tour and a Book of Mormon. It was his first time in a Christian Church and no doubt a lot to take in, but despite his crazy busy schedule and the slight langua

The Fourth Quarter🏈🏆🇯🇵 (Week 77)

What’s up my party people? Hope everyone had a great week. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous around here recently and it’s a pleasure to be out in it doing the Lord’s work and fighting the good fight. The Sakura are beginning to bloom, the weather is getting warmer, and the people are getting friendlier so I can’t complain.   It’s always amazing to see how fast time flies. Especially when you lose yourself in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The past year and a half of my life have been devoted to everyday service and trying to better myself in order to become the effective missionary that the Lord wants me to be. And now, as of last week, we have come to the fourth quarter of this two year adventure of a lifetime. The mission is a very interesting experience in the aspect that it not only entails a complete change in behavior, but, if you do it right, it has the potential to cause a complete change of nature. I feel like I have changed during the course of my mission, but honest
