Does Whatever a Spider Can ⛩ (Week 89)

What’s good!? Hope everyone had a great week! The sun has been out, the weather has been great, and the bustling metropolis of Yamato has been bumping. We have been able to get out, get to work, and see some miracles. First thing this week was Zone p-day last Monday. We got the whole zone to come up to Yamato and have a big water balloon festival right in the parking lot. We had everything from water balloon volleyball to water balloon ultimate frisbee to one big water gun throw down. Not gonna lie, it was all Elder Jaeckel’s idea and I was pretty skeptical about it to start with, but it ended up being a ton of fun. ごめん同僚 .  Second major event was at our weekly park cleaning service this past Thursday . Elder Wood and I were on splits and got to have a good time playing in the dirt and harvesting tulips. After the cleaning, we decided to go explore the rest of the park and see if we couldn’t talk to a person or two. It was all fun and games until I ran into like three spider webs an

Just take a breather⛩ (Week 88)

What’s up everybody!? Hope everyone had a great week! Things were a little slow this week because I was sick so we were just trapped in the apartment most of the time, but I’m feeling better now so this coming week will be way good. Didn’t get to get out much but some awesome things happened this week. First off, Elder Dale G Renlund of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles visited Japan this past week and we had a opportunity to have a conference with him in Kichijoji on Saturday . Way awesome opportunity to be with one of the Lord’s chosen 12 witnesses. He talked about a lot of different things, but one thing he said that stuck with me was “When we lose perspective, that is when we get into trouble”. He also shared a story about a patient he had who was dying and needed a heart transplant. This man was on blood pumps and had approximately a week to live. Finally a heart was found that would be able to be transplanted into him. So the Doctors got to work and transplanted the new heart. T

Plainer than white bread 🇯🇵⛩ (Week 86)

おはようございます! Hope everyone had a great week! Things haven’t been too interesting over here in this side of the world recently. I think that leadership has two sides to it: a ministering side and an administering side. Elder Jaeckel and I have definitely been able to see the importance of the administrative side this past week. With the beginning of a new transfer, zone conference coming up this week, and the various other leadership meetings we attend, needless to say, things have been pretty busy. Despite all those things though, we have been blessed to be able to get out and see the beauty of the Lord’s vineyard. To start with, we’ve been able to talk to tons of people this week. The Lord is preparing people all the time and it’s always amazing to be led to those people and blessed to see the miracle. One way cool experience that happened this week was with our new homie, Fei. He is from China, fluent in Mandarin, Japanese, and English, and a hustler on the court. So our story begins

Lucky Number 13💸🏆 (Week 85)

What’s up everybody!? Hope everyone had a great week! The seasons are passing and the days are getting warmer! Taking the jacket off is definitely a great change of pace, but the sweat stained collars of my white shirts would beg to differ. On the bright side, suns out guns out, and my new companion Elder Jaeckel and I are out as well and talking to everybody we can! The mission’s the best. The work is rolling forward, the heat isn’t too unbearable yet, and we’re loving it! We’re making a Costco run as a district today so I don’t have too much time to write, but this past week was an adventure. As usual, every six weeks we have transfers, and this past week happened to be the one. Unfortunately, Elder Harrison was shipped out to Kofu, but my good friend Elder Jaeckel (pronounced similar to J. Cole *first things first, Rest In Peace Uncle Phil*) was transferred here to Yamato and we are excited to kick things off! So far, our time has been filled with a lot of planning, coordinating
