Yea, I'm just gonna take a week...✌🏼☀️πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ (Week 49)

ηš†γ•γ‚“γ“γ‚“γ«γ‘γ―! This past week has been great here in Yokosuka! And thank you all so much for all the birthday emails and all the love. You guys are the best! In all honesty, nineteen feels the exact same as eighteen haha. And as a missionaries, we get to celebrate our birthdays by going to work and teaching about Jesus Christ. Probably best birthday ever.

This past week hasn't been quite the adventure of the previous weeks, but it's been good. Last Monday, we went to Joga-Shima park at the bottom of our area and caught lots of rain. It was a lot of fun but we came home soaking wet. After Monday, it continued to rain the whole week. Elder Taniguchi and I both woke up Tuesday morning feeling pretty under the weather, but decided to go out and work anyway. We were in the rain all day on Tuesday as well. On Wednesday, we woke up
and decided that it probably wasn't the best idea to go out again, so we stayed in. We ended up staying in the rest of the week as well to try and recover. On Saturday though, we woke up feeling a little better and were able able to attend a Ward service activity on base. We had the wonderful opportunity to pull weeds around the Chapel of Hope in the humid heat of August. Sun beating down on us, sweat in our eyes, dirty hands, and living the dream. Reminded me a lot of home actually haha. It was good to get out of the apartment and put in some manual labor, but by the time we finished, Elder Taniguchi and I realized that we weren't feeling as good as we thought we were so we went back and stayed in the apartment for the rest of the afternoon. Caught a few z's in the afternoon and woke up feeling a bit better again so Elder McDonald and I went with one of our investigators named
Josh, up to Kamiooka missionary culture night. Each of the missionaries gave presentations about their home countries/states/provinces. There were presentations about Utah, Oregon, Texas, Hokkaido, Kansai, and Micronesia. The only thing they were missing was some Sweet Home Alabama haha! It was way fun though and Josh had a great time. Anyway, we didn't get to go out as much this week, but it was great. Got in some good study sessions and caught up on some sleep!

Sorry if this week was kinda lame haha. I don't like being sick just as much as the next guy, but it is what it is I guess. The work is progressing though! Sometimes it's slow and difficult, but we are
blessed to see miracles from the Lord all the time. Once again, thank you so much for the all the wonderful emails and the love and support. I'll give you all a big hug one day haha! Anyway, until next week!
愛しています!

Typhoons, Lady’s Baseball, and Zone Conference⛩πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅ (Week 98)

Well, it’s been quite the week over here in the Land of the Rising Sun. Once again, we’ve been stretched pretty thin with not a whole lot of time to come up for air, but it’s been a blast and we’ve been blessed to see all kinds of miracles. To start with, the beginning of last week was all meetings and planning for Zone Conference this past Thursday . Elder Matsunaga and I and the STL’s gave a zone training on becoming experts in PMG which went really well and lined up perfectly with President Warnick’s trainings, and then Elder McDonald and I did a musical number with President Warnick in guitar which went as well as it could with zero practice lol. Either way though, we sang “I’ll go where you want me to go” and the Spirit was strong, so that’s all that matters. Next pretty big event this past week was our typhoon this past Saturday . We talked to some pretty concerned Japanese people and got lots of calls from leadership, but everything was completely fine. I tried explain...

Thanks for the Ride⛩πŸ† (Week 102 - Last P-day!!!)

Today is a day of mixed emotions. As we come to the end of this two year adventure they call a mission, my heart is filled with nothing but gratitude and joy. The past two years have been an experience like no other, but I’m just grateful that the Lord saw fit to let me be a part of it and see his hand bless the lives of folks through me. There is a quote I saw once that I think sums things up pretty well. “Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed. Most putts don’t drop. Most beef is tough. Most children grow up to be just people. Most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration. Most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is like an old-time rail journey: delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride.” It has been truly h...

One For the BooksπŸ‡―πŸ‡΅πŸ†⛩ (Week 101)

This past weeks has definitely been one for the books. A lot has happened and we don’t have a whole lot of time to write today so I’ll cover the highlights. 1. Last Monday, we had Zone p-day and zone blitz over in Machida. Got to ball up a little bit on the court and top it off with some family history dendo that night. We asked everyone to prepare and bring their own pedigree chart and then a couple blank ones to hand out. It was a lot of fun and a huge blessing to be able to use my own family stories to invite the people of Japan to come unto Christ. 2. Tuesday, we had a combined Kofu and Hachioji District Meeting. Had lots of good trainings and learned a lot. Also had the opportunity to write a gospel haiku. Anyone who knows me, knows that language arts isn’t my specialty, but I think it turned out pretty good. 善に向けて、悔い改めを、清めγͺγ‚Š 3. On Wednesday we taught a lesson to our friend Sanosaka San. Talked a lot about the gospel of Jesus Christ and how faith leads to repentance and repentanc...
