Fútbol (Week 19)

Another great week in the Land of the Rising Sun! I was able to go on splits twice this past week and both times were with elders who are about to finish their last transfer. It was awesome to be with such
experienced elders and to learn a lot from them. Tuesday, I was with Uemura長老 and Saturday I was with the Fujisawa zone leader Leach長老. Leach長老 is from Dallas, TX so it was way fun being with him for a day. First person I've seen in a while that is from the South. It felt a little bit like home. Last Thursday, we were able to go on splits again with the two young men who are preparing to serve missions this spring. It was way difficult to find people, it was a bad part of the day (like 2-5pm), and on top of that, it was way cold with high winds and sleet... That's always fun! But yea, the weather here is a lot like Alabama; very bipolar. Last Monday, we had a zone p-day in Atsugi where all the missionaries in the zone got together to play soccer. It way way fun, and also hot! Crazy weather out here I tell you. Anyway, that was the highlights of this past week.

The time keeps flying! The days are long, but the weeks go by so fast. I am beyond blessed to have the opportunity to be in Japan (trying to make the most of every moment) and teach about Jesus Christ. Very very few people here believe in God, and almost no one believes in Jesus Christ. It is sad to see and very difficult to help people build that faith, but it makes the experiences that much greater when we are able to bring the light of Christ and happiness into their lives. Tons of people get into the rotation of work, sleep, work, sleep, and so on and so on. Walking blindly without any real purpose in life. When we are able to show them and they are able to see the perfect plan that God has provided for us and that we have a Savior who makes everything possible, a new light comes into their lives and it is one of the most amazing things anyone could ever witness. I am beyond grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ, and all he has done for me. I could never fully repay him, so I did the next best thing and became a missionary! It has been an experience like no other. I am grateful for this opportunity and for my family and all the love and support they provide for me. And a big shoutout to all my homies out there who made me who I am today! I love you all! Until next week! 愛しています!!!

Set Apart

On Saturday September 10th, 2016 Dylan was set apart as a full time missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by our stake president, Peter M. Johnson.  There were a lot of family members there and it was an exciting and emotional day.

Thinking Out Loud 🎸 ⛩ (Week 54)

Hello! How was everyone's week? This past week was a blast here in Yokosuka. With everything from bowling to basically swimming through the rain. The missionary life is great and I wouldn't have it any other way! For all those who aren't missionaries out there, I would recommend! It's been the best year of my life so far and things are looking greater and greater all the time. This past week, we did a lot, but I'll share a couple of our adventures. Last Monday, we decided to go bowling on base again. I didn't play nearly as well as the previous week, but it was fun haha. In the evening, we had a lesson planned with our investigator Manuel. Long story short, the lesson fell through, so we hit the streets. Talked to some way cool people and made some good contacts. Tuesday was lots of Streeting and Japanese Class. Fun stuff. On Wednesday , we did a lot of Streeting during the day and had dinner with the Cribb family. They took us out to Chili's in base and ...
