The PortatošŸ„”šŸš²ā›© (Week 34)

Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a great week this week. Elder Ramos and I have had a week like no other here in Kunitachi. We have been together for a solid 3 days now and have seen crazy miracles everywhere. Thursday was our first day together and we found 2 new investigators. On Friday, we didn't find any new investigators, but we did find several potential investigators. On Saturday, we found three more new investigators. On Sunday, we found another new investigator,
for a grand total of 6 new investigators and several more PI's in 3 days. We were also able to meet with one of our other investigators who has been crazy busy recently and had a great lesson. Hopefully we can continue to meet a little more often and help him find the light that comes through the gospel of Jesus Christ. As far as I see it, that is nothing short of a miracle. Elder Ramos and I have been working hard and working well together. He is possibly one the strangest and most scatter-brained people I have ever met, but he is a fantastic missionary and a hard worker. Let's just say, it's going to be an interesting transfer. I'm excited!

Today Elder Handly, Elder Mori, Elder Ramos, and I are all getting our bikes tuned up so we are all on rental bikes. In Japan, there are several different types of bikes that people usually buy. For example, a regular street bike like I have, or more of an off road bike, or these other pretty common bikes called mama-chari's. For our rental bikes today, we all got mama-chari's. They are pretty much the greatest thing ever. Not real fast or flashy, but perfect for cruising down the street with your squad. One of the best parts of our new cruisers, is that they all came with names written on the side. Elder Handly got the "Bobby Town", Elder Mori got the "Fro-Mage", Elder Ramos got the "Transmatic", and I got the "Portato". Probably the second greatest thing of my life lol.

Other than that, not much to report so far. Elder Ramos and I are working hard and seeing miracles from God every day. Thanks to everyone at home for the wonderful emails and all the love. To all my
missionaries out there, keep working hard, don't give up, and you will see miracles. ēš†ć•ć‚“ę„›ć—ć¦ć„ć¾ć™!

MTC Week 1

Wednesday September 21, 2016 My p-day in the MTC is every Wednesday so expect emails then. I can read emails any day but I can only reply on p-day. I will admit, the first week of The MTC was really really tough. It was incredibly frustrating trying to learn the language, and trying to adapt to my new, very scheduled lifestyle. Since Sunday, I've been able to settle in a little more though and come to terms with having to be patient with myself as I learn the language and further learn the Gospel. On our second day in the MTC, we received our first investigator, Ohira san, who we have been teaching in Japanese! The first lesson was a total bomb shell, but as we have learned to stop trying to rely on ourselves and our own teaching skill, and start relying on the Spirit to teach, we have seen much success in just these few days. My companion is Jones Chōrō. We are not very much alike at all, but we work well together and generally keep each other in balance. Chab Chōrō is our dis...

The Beginning of the End ā›© (Week 97)

Have you ever just walked outside and been like, wow, you know, itā€™s really really hot out here and it probably canā€™t get any hotter than this? And then you walk out the next day and realize it got even hotter... Weā€™ll, if I had to sum up our week this past week, thatā€™s how Iā€™d describe it. Hachioji truly is å¤Ŗé™½ć®ē”ŗ. Itā€™s been rough, but weā€™re hanging in there and having some fun along the way. In other news, this past week was transfers, and there has been some major changes. First off, Iā€™m still here in Hachioji (blessings from Heaven), but Elder Gill transferred to my old area Yokosuka, and my new companion is the one and only Elder Matsunaga from Yamaguchi-Ken. On top of that, our zone has doubled in size and now we cover the entire Machida Stake rather than just the western half. Yea, I just thought last transfer was busy. Weā€™ve been running around like chickens with our heads cut off working with Stake leaders, organizing all our districts, planning zone conference, and coordinatin...

Typhoons, Ladyā€™s Baseball, and Zone Conferenceā›©šŸ‡ÆšŸ‡µ (Week 98)

Well, itā€™s been quite the week over here in the Land of the Rising Sun. Once again, weā€™ve been stretched pretty thin with not a whole lot of time to come up for air, but itā€™s been a blast and weā€™ve been blessed to see all kinds of miracles. To start with, the beginning of last week was all meetings and planning for Zone Conference this past Thursday . Elder Matsunaga and I and the STLā€™s gave a zone training on becoming experts in PMG which went really well and lined up perfectly with President Warnickā€™s trainings, and then Elder McDonald and I did a musical number with President Warnick in guitar which went as well as it could with zero practice lol. Either way though, we sang ā€œIā€™ll go where you want me to goā€ and the Spirit was strong, so thatā€™s all that matters. Next pretty big event this past week was our typhoon this past Saturday . We talked to some pretty concerned Japanese people and got lots of calls from leadership, but everything was completely fine. I tried explain...
