Have you ever just walked outside and been like, wow, you know, it’s really really hot out here and it probably can’t get any hotter than this? And then you walk out the next day and realize it got even hotter... We’ll, if I had to sum up our week this past week, that’s how I’d describe it. Hachioji truly is 太陽の町. It’s been rough, but we’re hanging in there and having some fun along the way.
In other news, this past week was transfers, and there has been some major changes. First off, I’m still here in Hachioji (blessings from Heaven), but Elder Gill transferred to my old area Yokosuka, and my new companion is the one and only Elder Matsunaga from Yamaguchi-Ken. On top of that, our zone has doubled in size and now we cover the entire Machida Stake rather than just the western half. Yea, I just thought last transfer was busy. We’ve been running around like chickens with our heads cut off working with Stake leaders, organizing all our districts, planning zone conference, and coordinating the work here in Hachioji Ward. It’s been crazy, and I’m more tired than I ever thought I could be, but the hand of the Lord is in it all and we’ve been blessed to receive the strength and guidance that we need. Other than that, not too much to report. We’ve had lots of meetings so we’ve been in suits a lot. Can’t make any promises but hopefully this coming week will be a little more interesting.
Well, we’re down to one hand on counting the weeks left in this amazing mission adventure (hence the title of the email). It’s been quite the ride; lots of ups, plenty of downs, and a couple loops. I’ve learned a lot about myself, a lot about the Lord, and a lot about what real joy is all about. I’ve learned that in life, we can generally find pleasure and even happiness, but if we want real joy, there’s only one source to turn to. That’s the role of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love you all and hope everyone has a great week!
