What's Cooler Than Being Cool?☃️πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅⛩ (Week 62)

Konnichiwa! Hope everyone had a great week! Not gonna lie, this past week for Elder Thomson, Elder Ota, and I was not that fun haha. The seasons have changed here in Japan and let me tell you, it is cold! One of my companions is from Brigham City, Utah and the other is from Sapporo Japan so they think I'm just being a baby when I say I'm freezing, but for a good ole' Bama boy like myself, I didn't find it that funny. Anyway, long story short, all three of us have managed to catch colds. We have been pretty under the weather this past week and we are still working on getting over it. We haven't let that get us down though.

Despite being punched in the face by colds though, it was a pretty decent week. We were unfortunately not able to meet with our boy, JT, this past week because of his work schedule, but he messaged us saying that he wants to meet this week when he has some time. I'll keep you posted on that one. We were able to meet with Manuel though. Because Manuel's native tongue is Spanish, that's what we use (well, as best as we can lol). It mostly involves a lot of me reading Spanish and
being able to listen and understand as Manuel speaks to us. If that's not the gift of tongues, I don't know what is haha! Anyway, it was a good lesson. We read together from the Book of Mormon in 2 Nephi 31, and talked about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and more specifically, Faith. Manuel has a desire to change and grow closer to God, but it will be a big change for him so we will help him all along the way. He's a great guy and we are blessed to be working with some great people here in Yokosuka.

Other than that, not much has happened. We continue to fight our way through the blistering winds and overcome the crippling paralysis known as the common cold. It's an adventure and I love every minute of it. I love you all and hope everyone has a great week!

Set Apart

Thinking Out Loud 🎸 ⛩ (Week 54)

Hello! How was everyone's week? This past week was a blast here in Yokosuka. With everything from bowling to basically swimming through the rain. The missionary life is great and I wouldn't have it any other way! For all those who aren't missionaries out there, I would recommend! It's been the best year of my life so far and things are looking greater and greater all the time. This past week, we did a lot, but I'll share a couple of our adventures. Last Monday, we decided to go bowling on base again. I didn't play nearly as well as the previous week, but it was fun haha. In the evening, we had a lesson planned with our investigator Manuel. Long story short, the lesson fell through, so we hit the streets. Talked to some way cool people and made some good contacts. Tuesday was lots of Streeting and Japanese Class. Fun stuff. On Wednesday , we did a lot of Streeting during the day and had dinner with the Cribb family. They took us out to Chili's in base and ...
