A week of Miracles☃️🇯🇵⛩ (Week 63)

What's up everybody!? It's been another great week here in the area of Yokosuka. Another transfer has come to an end as everyone anxiously awaits transfer emails today. It's crazy to see how fast time flies. I can't believe it's already been four transfers in Yokosuka. In all honesty, I hope to stay in Yokosuka one more transfer. We have seen lots of miracles and exciting things are happening!

This past week was a long one. First of all, it was the last full week of the transfer so everyone has been a little anxious. Second off, not gonna lie, the dendo was pretty rough this past week. Not a whole lot of people wanted to talk to us. We went out everyday and tried to stop as many as we could, but not too many people were having it haha. Third off, it was Thanksgiving! So glad I got to spend it in little America. The Serrano family has us over for Thanksgiving dinner and it was awesome! I definitely ate way too much and then some, but it was great (especially the pecan pie). They Serranos hosted us, another family from the Ward, and some non-member coworkers so it was really fun to hang out with them and share a message about gratitude with the non-members. They really enjoyed it so hopefully we will see them again sometime soon. And the last major event this week was Saturday. We had a big lesson planned with our investigator JT and we had been super anxious about it all week. Finally Saturday rolls around and we meet up with JT and go to the Lowe Family's home on base. We taught about the Plan of Salvation and put a lot of emphasis on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. There was lots of great testimony and JT has awesome faith. At the end of the lesson, we invited him to be baptized and he was like, "yes, definitely!" We were originally going to shoot for a date before Christmas, but he will be in the US for the holidays, so we set a baptismal date for January 13. That date is still landing though. He is way prepared, so it might get moved earlier! Huge miracle and we are way excited for him. That was pretty much the highlights of this past week.

Things have been good. It wasn't easy for Elder Thomson and I our first transfer together. We put in a lot of work but it felt like everything just kept falling through. We didn't give up though, and we have been able to see some amazing miracles our second transfer together. I know the Lord will always bless us for our efforts. Elder Holland once said, "Some blessings come soon, some come late, and some don't come until heaven; but for those who embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, they come." I know that is true. I have seen it in my life and in countless lives of those around me. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is true. Believe it. Trust it. Because if you do, your life will be blessed in ways you cannot imagine. Hope everyone has a great week and I love you all.

P.S. Transfer Emails came and I will be leaving the amazing land of Yokosuka and transferring to Sagamihara as District leader. Sagamihara is in the Machida East zone so that means I'm heading back into the city. Excited for this upcoming transfer, but tough to say goodbye to all of the amazing people of Yokosuka.

Zone p-day: a little Thanksgiving football

Last district meeting of the transfer
The Bradford family. They are pretty much the best ever.

The Christmas lights are up!

Typhoons, Lady’s Baseball, and Zone Conference⛩🇯🇵 (Week 98)

Well, it’s been quite the week over here in the Land of the Rising Sun. Once again, we’ve been stretched pretty thin with not a whole lot of time to come up for air, but it’s been a blast and we’ve been blessed to see all kinds of miracles. To start with, the beginning of last week was all meetings and planning for Zone Conference this past Thursday . Elder Matsunaga and I and the STL’s gave a zone training on becoming experts in PMG which went really well and lined up perfectly with President Warnick’s trainings, and then Elder McDonald and I did a musical number with President Warnick in guitar which went as well as it could with zero practice lol. Either way though, we sang “I’ll go where you want me to go” and the Spirit was strong, so that’s all that matters. Next pretty big event this past week was our typhoon this past Saturday . We talked to some pretty concerned Japanese people and got lots of calls from leadership, but everything was completely fine. I tried explain...

Thanks for the Ride⛩🏆 (Week 102 - Last P-day!!!)

Today is a day of mixed emotions. As we come to the end of this two year adventure they call a mission, my heart is filled with nothing but gratitude and joy. The past two years have been an experience like no other, but I’m just grateful that the Lord saw fit to let me be a part of it and see his hand bless the lives of folks through me. There is a quote I saw once that I think sums things up pretty well. “Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he has been robbed. Most putts don’t drop. Most beef is tough. Most children grow up to be just people. Most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration. Most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is like an old-time rail journey: delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride.” It has been truly h...

One For the Books🇯🇵🏆⛩ (Week 101)

This past weeks has definitely been one for the books. A lot has happened and we don’t have a whole lot of time to write today so I’ll cover the highlights. 1. Last Monday, we had Zone p-day and zone blitz over in Machida. Got to ball up a little bit on the court and top it off with some family history dendo that night. We asked everyone to prepare and bring their own pedigree chart and then a couple blank ones to hand out. It was a lot of fun and a huge blessing to be able to use my own family stories to invite the people of Japan to come unto Christ. 2. Tuesday, we had a combined Kofu and Hachioji District Meeting. Had lots of good trainings and learned a lot. Also had the opportunity to write a gospel haiku. Anyone who knows me, knows that language arts isn’t my specialty, but I think it turned out pretty good. 善に向けて、悔い改めを、清めなり 3. On Wednesday we taught a lesson to our friend Sanosaka San. Talked a lot about the gospel of Jesus Christ and how faith leads to repentance and repentanc...
